Ayokunmi Christopher Oluwaseun Banjo (* 26. February 1990 in Houston , Texas ) is an American American football poker players in the National Football League (NFL). He currently plays for the Arizona Cardinals as Special Teamer and Safety .

college

Banjo attended Southern Methodist University and played college football for their team, the Mustangs, successfully , putting a total of 321 tackles and preventing 15 passes between 2008 and 2011 . He also got 4 interceptions .

NFL

Jacksonville Jaguars

Banjo was not included in the 2012 NFL Draft and could not find a place with any team afterwards. It was not until 2013 that he was hired by the Jacksonville Jaguars as a free agent . He was released in July.

Green Bay Packers

A few days later he was signed by the Green Bay Packers . In his rookie season he was used in all defense games, once as a starter . However, he received significantly more playing time as a special teamer . Nevertheless, he had to spend the next season mainly in the practice squad and could only play in three games. In 2015 he made it back to the team. After his good performance in the regular season , he was elected one of the team captains of the special teams by his colleagues in the play-offs . In 2016, he tore a hamstring in the third game , was initially placed on the Injured Reserve List and eventually discharged.

New Orleans Saints

On November 14, 2016, the New Orleans Saints signed him to replace the sick Michael Mauti . He was only used as a special teamer. In March 2017, Banjo signed a two-year deal with the Saints for $ 2.6 million . Before the start of the 2019 regular season , Banjo was released.

Arizona Cardinals

On September 25, 2019, Banjo was signed by the Arizona Cardinals .
