The Society for Radiation Protection (GSS) is an international specialist society that was founded in 1990. According to the statutes, the purpose is " to achieve the best possible [radiation] protection for people and the environment from the harmful effects of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation ."

The company is not to be confused with the German-Swiss Association for Radiation Protection . This officially takes over the representation of the Federal Republic in international bodies and technical committees.

Sebastian Pflugbeil has been President of the GSS since 1999 . Other board members are Inge Schmitz-Feuerhake (Vice President), Thomas Dersee and Roland Wolff.

Former presidents are Wolfgang Köhnlein and Edmund Lengfelder .

The company's communication organ is the reports of the Otto Hug Radiation Institute , which z. B. Issues congress reports on congresses organized by the GSS.
