Gesnerus is a Swiss specialist journal for the history of medicine and the natural sciences that has been published since 1943.

Gesnerus is the organ of the Swiss Society for the History of Medicine and Natural Sciences (SGGMN). It was published by Verlag Sauerländer in Aarau until 1998 . Today it is published by Schwabe Verlag in Basel. Until 1988 the subtitle was a quarterly journal for the history of medicine and the natural sciences . Gesnerus was published quarterly until 2009, and every six months since 2010 (in June and December).

The editors-in-chief are Vincent Barras and Hubert Steinke . The editors include Christian Bonah, Michael Hagner , Micheline Louis-Courvoisier, Francesco Panese, Iris Ritzmann , Hans K. Schmutz, Jakob Tanner and Daniela Vaj.
