Lock
Locks are mechanical components that determine the position of a moving part, the locking piece , relative to another, i. d. Usually opposite the frame , by means of a lock, completely or up to a fixed limit.
Locks often serve as safety devices to prevent unwanted movement. As a typical application, locking mechanisms prevent the uncontrolled return of lifting devices such as elevators or lifting tables and hold the adjustable head end of a slatted frame in position until it is to be lowered again.
In addition to the subdivision into
tight locks and limit force locks / obstructions (the state of rest is retained completely or up to a fixed limit)
, a distinction is made according to the movement that is prevented:
locking for rotary movement and for pushing movement .
Another distinguishing feature is whether the locking takes place in one or both directions of movement:
one-sided ( directional locking ) or bilateral .
Depending on whether the locking takes place by means of a form
fit or a force fit , a distinction is made between: form lock / Gehemme ( tooth lock / locked ) or friction lock / locked .
Some
locking mechanisms have their own name: Latch locking mechanisms are double-sided locking mechanisms with positive locking , with which preferred positions can be precisely reproduced. Your lock is called a bolt .
Latch locks are double-acting limit force locks with positive locking , which automatically establish the rest state ( locking position ) from a certain approximation.
Locking locks are double-acting limit force locks with frictional connection ( clamping ), which i. d. They are usually dimensioned in such a way that they act as a lock under normal conditions. They are often a transition form to detachable connections .
Like them, brakes and friction clutches (which, however, take up work as well as forces) are basically constructed.
Particularly common is Zahnrichtgesperre with ratchet as a blocker applied.
