The Health Academy eV is an association of people, initiatives and institutions in the health sector. It supports health-promoting competencies, independent patient information and advice, a socio-ecological understanding of health and a solidarity-based and fair health policy.
history
The Health Academy is a nationwide, non-profit, registered association founded in 1989. Health shops, health initiatives and individuals from the health movement founded this association in order to take up the approaches and experiences of the nationwide health days and to convert them into practice and policy development in the health sector.
activities
The content-related work is largely carried out in topic-related working groups, in the board of directors and in conferences and is coordinated by the office. The association's fields of action are bundled in three federal working groups:
- the BAG patient centers, patient advice and patient participation (BAGP) ,
- the BAG Health Promotion and Prevention (BAGG) and
- the BAG Lifestyle and Health Policy (BAGL).
The Health Academy sees itself as a workshop for visions and as a critical companion for innovative projects. Publications, seminars and events should convey these ideas and put them up for discussion. Since 2015, the Health Academy has been organizing a week on healthy development (WogE for short) once a year on the North Sea island of Langeoog , which addresses current issues and shows personal and socio-ecological perspectives.
Cooperation partner
The Health Academy seeks collaboration with other committed people, initiatives, projects and institutions in all activities. Cooperation partners are e.g. B. the Paritätische Bildungswerk , the union ver.di , patient organizations, the patient network NRW, health-aktiv eV, healthsziel.de, the umbrella associations of health insurance , scientific institutes, colleges for health and universities and the federal working group of senior citizens organizations BAGSO eV
Memberships
The GesundheitsAkademie eV is a member of the Patient Safety Action Alliance (APS) eV , the BAGSO eV, the Federal Association for Prevention and Health Promotion (BVPG) eV , the Paritätischer NRW eV as well as Gesundheitsziel.de (cooperation association for the development of national health goals).
