Gettorfer Mill
The Gettorf Windmill (also known as Mühle Rosa ) is an old windmill in the municipality of Gettorf in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein .
It is (next to the St. Jürgen Church ) one of the landmarks of Gettorf.
It is a gallery tower mill , with a two-story, red brick built quadrangular base (tower), a slate-covered roof and blind wings and a-called "compass" Yaw is equipped. An extension added later extends the usable area.
The mill was built by the miller Wilhelm Theodor Johannsen in 1869 by the mill builder Carl Friedrich Trahn (1806–1888). The mill was used to grind grain until 1946. Between 1977 and 1982 the mill was renovated by the “Association for the Preservation of the Gettorf Windmill”.
The Gettorf windmill is used as a community library and for weddings.
