Gun factory (Vienna)
The gun factory was located in the Währingerstraße 11-13 in the 9th Viennese district of Alsergrund and was more than 70 years, the major source of supply of Austria for handguns .
The Aerar bought 1785 three realities located here, including the Palais burner and built here the "kk Flintenschifterei". The Austrian army obtained most of its rifles from this weapons factory, in which Josef Werndl also worked . In 1852 the rifle factory moved to the newly built arsenal . In 1853 the kuk war school temporarily moved into the building.
Today the Anatomical Institute , built in 1886 by Dominik Avanzo and Paul Lange , is located here .
