The wavy heart flagellate ( Phacus oscillans ) is a protist species from the genus Phacus . It occurs in nutrient-poor waters and springs.
features
Phacus oscillans is 15 to 35 micrometers long. The cells are obovate and taper towards the rear end. The membrane is striped in a spiral. The side edges curl up asymmetrically against the concave side of the abdomen. On one side this curl is more pronounced at the front, on the other at the back. The scourge is as long as the body. The chloroplasts are disc-shaped.
