The HTBLuVA Salzburg is a higher technical federal teaching and research institute in Salzburg . It is the largest school in western Austria and the second largest school in Austria. The HTL Salzburg currently has approx. 2,700 students and approx. 300 teachers and employees. The school was founded in 1876 in the building of the old Salzburg trade school. The founding director was the well-known Viennese architect Camillo Sitte . Due to the strong increase in the number of students, the educational establishment was relocated to a new building in the Itzling district of Salzburg in 1985 . This was expanded on October 11, 2012 by adding an additional floor to the management wing.
