There are also other videos that explain uncomfortable or funny situations that have arisen as a result of tics . Videos are also uploaded with other affected persons or treating doctors. On December 24, 2019, they released the song Show your face . So far (as of June 11, 2020) the song has received over 3 million views. A new single called Krieger followed on June 12, 2020 . Surname

According to his own statements, the name thunderstorm in the head came about through inspiration from a former lecturer of Jan Zimmermann. The lecturer compared his Tourette- and epilepsy- related symptoms to a thunderstorm.

aims

Tourette sufferers can be exposed to unpleasant situations in everyday life due to motor and vocal tics. The goal of thunderstorms in the head is to make the disease better known and thereby relieve outsiders of the fear of contact. They clearly emphasize that not every person affected shares a humorous approach to Tourette's syndrome.

Reactions

In addition to many positive reactions, both of them repeatedly received critical voices. They are accused of having only acted on the tics, or they are advised to expel the devil .

It is also feared that the disease will be ridiculed. Tourette victims should not be used to amuse outsiders. The affected organizations Tourette-Gesellschaft Deutschland eV and the interest group Tic & Tourette Syndrom eV expressed themselves critically in a joint statement. The critical point of view was confirmed by IVTS eV in an update dated July 4, 2019.

illness

Zimmermann has had Tourette's syndrome since childhood. The current version with u. a. Coprolalia has only formed from the age of 18. He also has epilepsy . He gave his Tourette syndrome the name "Gisela" to make it clear that what he said was not his own opinion.
