Ghalia Volt

Ghalia Volt (* in Brussels as Ghalia Vauthier ) is a Belgian blues rock singer, guitarist and songwriter .

biography

Ghalia Volt began her musical career as a street musician in Europe and in the southern United States . In Brussels she founded the R&B band “Ghalia & the Naphtalines”. Her debut album Voodoo Casino was released in 2016 .

In the States she was invited by the harmonica player Johnny Mastro to sing as the front woman of his band "Mama's Boys". This collaboration resulted in the album Let the Demons Out in 2017 . The album reached number 1 in Louisiana's “Roots Music Report”, number 15 in the “Contemporary Blues Charts” and number 23 in the “Living Blues Charts”. Classic Rock magazine named the album Blues Album of the Month.

In 2019 Ruf Records released the album Mississippi Blend , which was recorded with local musicians in Hill Country in the north of the US state of Mississippi .
