Gheorghe Vitanidis
Gheorghe Vitanidis (born October 1, 1929 in Mangalia , † November 24, 1994 in Athens ) was a Romanian film director .
From the 1950s Vitanidis made over fifteen films. Together with the French director Louis Daquin , he staged the film adaptation of a novel by Panait Istrati in 1958 under the title Die Disteln des Baragan . This film was shown in competition at the Cannes International Film Festival . Two of his films were shown in competition for the main prize at the Moscow International Film Festival : A Woman for a Season (1968) and Clipa (1979).
