Ghotki District is an administrative district in Pakistan in Sindh Province . The seat of the district administration is the city of the same name Ghotki .
The district has an area of 6083 km² and according to the 2017 census 1,646,318 inhabitants. The population density is 271 inhabitants / km². The Sindhi language is spoken by the majority in the district .

The district is located in the north of Sindh Province, which is located in southeastern Pakistan. The district borders the Punjab Province and India .

Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew by 2.82% annually. Around 25% of the population live in urban regions and around 75% in rural regions. 849,226 men, 797,051 women and 41 transgender people live in 296,670 households , resulting in a gender ratio of 106.7 men per 100 women, which is a common surplus for Pakistan.
The literacy rate in the years 2014/15 among the population over 10 years of age was 51% (women: 20%, men: 60%) and thus below the average of the Sindh province of 60%.
