Giacinto Cardi

Giacinto Cardi SAC (born July 4, 1876 in Lenola , † May 19, 1956 in Rome ) was an Italian priest and between 1919 and 1925 and 1931 and 1937 General Rector of the Pallottines .

Cardi joined the Pallottines in Rome in 1892 and was ordained a priest in 1902 . In 1909 he took part in the third general assembly and was elected first provincial of the Italian province. In this position he paid particular attention to youth work. For example, he opened a training center in Rome.

In 1919 he was elected Rector General. During his tenure, the Pallottine Constitution was adopted and published. A college for alumni education was also opened in Rome. In 1925 he was appointed pastor in Ostia . In 1931 he was rector general and from 1937 general consultor for ten years.

On May 19, 1956, he died of heart disease and was buried in the Campo Verano cemetery in Rome.
