Karl Hoffmann (clergyman)

Karl Hoffmann (born May 8, 1887 in Langenberg , † February 22, 1968 in Limburg an der Lahn ) was a German Pallottine and from 1937 to 1947 General Rector.

He was ordained a priest on July 9, 1911 . He received his doctorate in theology and specialized in missiology at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster . In 1920 he became a professor at the college in Limburg. He lectured on the Old Testament for 14 years. He was rector of the house for three years. In 1931 he became General Procurator of the Order.

From 1937 to 1947 he was Rector General of the Order and then Vice General for six years. He then returned to Limburg and gave lectures on church history , the history of the Pallottines and the spirituality of St. Vincenzo Pallotti . He died in Limburg at the age of 81.
