Giambattista Morea
Giambattista Morea (born September 22, 1640 in Bitonto , † December 11, 1711 ; also Giambattista La Morea or Gianbattista La Morea ) was an Italian Roman Catholic bishop .
life and work
Morea was appointed Bishop of Lacedonia on October 2, 1684 . The episcopal consecration donated him on October 8th of the same year the former Bishop of Recanati e Loreto , Cardinal Alessandro Crescenzi .
His name is closely related to the construction of the new Lacedonia Cathedral . A handwritten Cronologia dei vescovi che occuparono la sede cattedrale di Lacedonia (chronology of the bishops who held the bishopric of Lacedonia) was written by Giambattista Morea .
