Gianfranco Walsh

Gianfranco Walsh (born November 8, 1970 in Leicester ) is an economist and holds the chair for general business administration and marketing at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena .

Walsh studied Marketing at Leuphana University Lüneburg and the Manchester School of Management and graduated in 1998. In 2001 he received his doctorate from the University of Hanover , where he received his habilitation in 2004 .

From 2002 to 2004 he was an assistant professor at the Marketing Chair at the University of Hanover. From 2004 to 2006 he was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing at Strathclyde Business School, Glasgow, Scotland. From 2006 he was then Professor of Marketing and Electronic Retailing at the University of Koblenz-Landau , until he accepted an appointment at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena in 2011, where he received a professorship for general business administration and marketing. Walsh is also a visiting professor at the University of Strathclyde .

His research focus is on service management and marketing, in particular the behavior of consumers and service employees.
