Gianna Maria Garbelli
Gianna Maria Garbelli (* 1967 in Varese ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .
Life
Garbelli spent her youth in Milan as the daughter of boxer Giancarlo Garbelli . After graduating from high school, she studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and played numerous roles in important theater productions. She also worked for television, where she a. a. was seen in films by Guido Tosi . In 1993 Garbelli produced and directed Tentazioni metropolitane , which was shown at the Venice Film Festival and which shows her in the lead role in an unusually intense film.
After she had already documented her father's life in Il combattente in 2003 , the extensive documentary The Glory and the Passion followed in 2011 .
