Gianni Cavalieri (actually Vittorio Cavalieri ; born March 7, 1908 in Padua , † July 5, 1955 in Treviso ) was an Italian actor .

Life

The little brother of the actor Gino Cavalieri made his debut in 1927 in the “Compagnia Veneta” around Gianfranco Giachetti , with whom he was under contract until 1934. He then played for another Venetian, Carlo Micheluzzi , and from 1937 in his own theater group, which he led with his brother and which toured with dialect pieces. In 1940/41 he was with Cesco Baseggio , in 1945 with the important group under the direction of Memo Benassi on the stage. After performing again with his brother, he returned to Baseggio in 1950. He belonged to two important ensembles in the 1950s; first that of Wanda Osiris, then that of the "Teatro d'Arte Italiano".

After the Second World War, the Italian cinema producers put the rather small, stocky, not attractive, but engaging actor, who had spontaneous comedy and a clear voice, in numerous supporting roles, mostly Venetian characters, but rarely according to his abilities, until his untimely death. a.
