Gibraltar Amateur Swimming Association (GASA for short; German "Gibraltar Amateur Swimming Association" ) is the umbrella organization for swimming in the British overseas territory of Gibraltar . As one of 42 sports associations, it is subordinate to the Ministry for Sport of Gibraltar, which in turn is headed by the Minister of Culture, Heritage, Sport & Leisure , Hon Edwin Reyes. Denise Reyes has been president of the swimming association, founded in 1946, since 2010; the national team coaches Joe Santos. The association has its own indoor swimming pool with a 25-meter pool and six lanes in the 6.5 km² area. In addition, the organization can use the outdoor pool of the Nuffield Trust charitable foundation , which has a 50-meter pool with six lanes as well.
The Gibraltar Amateur Swimming Association is one of 18 sports federations in the country recognized by the respective international umbrella organizations. It is a full member of the European swimming federation LEN and the world swimming federation FINA .
