The Poison Information Regulation (ChemGiftInfoV) Full title: Regulation on the notification requirements pursuant to § 16e of the Chemicals Act to prevent and information for poisoning regulates in Germany the way the reporting of data to the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) according to § 16e of the Chemicals Act .
There it is stipulated that mixtures with certain hazard characteristics must be reported to the BfR. For its part, the BfR transmits the information to the information and treatment centers for poisoning supported by the federal states.
Among other things, these reports are to be made when mixtures with health or physically hazardous properties are sold to end users under their own trade names or when biocidal products are affected.
The following data must be reported:
- the trade name,
- Information on the composition,
- the marking,
- Notes on use,
- Recommendations on precautionary measures during use and emergency measures in the event of an accident.
Doctors who treat poisoning with chemical substances or mixtures or who assess it by an expert must also report to the Federal Institute for Risk:
- in acute illnesses after completion of treatment,
- in the case of chronic diseases after the diagnosis has been made,
- when giving advice in connection with an illness after the end of the consultation,
- if an autopsy is carried out in the event of illness resulting in death.
