Gildo Insfrán

Gildo Insfrán (born January 19, 1951 in Laguna Blanca , Formosa Province ) is an Argentine politician . Since 1995 he has been the governor of the Formosa Province.

Life

For his party Partido Justicialista , he was able to move into Formosa's parliament in 1983. In 1987 he became vice governor of the province under governor Vicente Joga . Two terms later, he successfully ran for gubernatorial election in 1995. His lieutenant governor was the 42nd Governor Formosas (1983-1987), Floro Bogado . Insfrán himself had lifted the legal limit on the number of terms of office, which is why he was sued by his predecessor in the highest Argentine court for using his own law to his advantage. In November 1998 Insfrán was authorized by the court to stand for re-election for the 1999-2003 electoral term. It was controversial that he won the election in September 1999. He and his runner-up Bogado won the election in 2003 with 71.8 percent. He won the 2007 and 2011 elections with 75% and 76% of the vote.

He is divorced and has two daughters. His 17-year-old son committed suicide in 2003 suicide .
