Gino Trematerra

Gino Trematerra (born September 3, 1940 in Cosenza ) is an Italian politician of the UDC .

After earning his diploma as a chartered accountant, Trematerra worked for the INPS and was represented on the supervisory boards of many companies. At the UDC he held several functions, including as party secretary and regional representative in Calabria and as the person responsible for questions from Italians abroad. From 2001 to 2008 he was a member of the Senate , in which he also held many important functions. He was also a member of the Calabrian regional council for several years, where he was also head of the regional government. From 2010 to 2012 he was mayor of the city of Acri . On December 1, 2011, he moved to the European Parliament as part of the enlargement .

He is vice-chairman of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection . He is a member of the delegation for relations with the Palestinian Legislative Council. As a deputy, he is in the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and in the delegation in the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee.
