Gintautė Žemaitytė

Gintautė Žemaitytė (* 1973 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian art educator and politician , vice minister .

Life

After graduating from secondary school, she completed her bachelor's degree and, in 1998, her master's degree in literary theory at the Vilniaus universitetas (VU). In 2007 she completed her doctorate at the Vilniaus dailės akademija in art studies on the subject of advertising (lit. "Gyvenimo būdo reklamos estetika: vaizdinis ir žodinis tekstas"). Her supervisor was Lolita Jablonskienė. From 2007 she taught the Magistrant visual semiotics , plastic semiotics, advertising analysis at the VDA and VU. From 2012 she works at the institute of the VDA.

From 2004 to 2006 she was editor- in- chief at the publishing house "Baltos lankos" and from 2009 to 2010 VšĮ was director of "Lietuviškos knygos". Since December 2016 she has been the Lithuanian Vice Minister of Culture , Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson's deputy in the Skvernelis cabinet .
