Giorgia Tomassi

Giorgia Tomassi (* 1970 in Naples ) is an Italian pianist .

Life

She received her first piano lessons from her mother and then studied at the Conservatory in Milan . Her training was completed at the Accademia Pianistica Internazionale "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola under the direction of Franco Scala . In 1992 she won the Arthur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv . Concerts have taken her to various European countries as well as to the USA , Brazil , Chile , Uruguay , South Korea and Japan .

Her CD releases include works by Nino Rota with the orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala under the direction of Riccardo Muti , as well as a live recording of the Paganini Variations by Witold Lutosławski , which she played in a duo with Martha Argerich .
