Giorgio Walter Chili

Giorgio Walter Chili (born October 28, 1918 in Casalecchio di Reno , † April 3, 1961 in Rome ) was an Italian film director .

Life

Chili was a film amateur already in his youth and attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia after finishing school . He initially devoted himself to documentary film , working for the Istituto Luce . After a short period as assistant director , his first feature film, directed in 1941 (based on his own script), remained unpublished. In 1945 his I dieci commandamenti , created during the occupation of Rome by the National Socialists , was published . It was not until 1952 that he continued his career; his subsequent films are influenced by his love for documentaries.
