Giovanni Baleison , also Giovanni Belisoni (* around 1425 in Demonte ; † before 1500?) Was a painter who demonstrably worked in Piedmont , Liguria and France, more precisely in the chapel of Notre-Dame des Fontaines near La Brigue , from 1481 was.

Life

Baleison can be detected in Venanson in 1481 , in Mairatal in 1484 and in Stroppo Bassura in 1486 .

Frescoes from his hand can be found in Venanson, where he created frescoes on the Legenda aurea in 1481 , Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée and Celle di Macra in the Mairatal (1484). From 1482 to 1485 he painted the Sebastian chapel in the church of Santi Sebastiano e Fabiano in Marmora (Piedmont) . He made a Madonna Enthroned in the apse of Santa Maria della Pieve in Beinette . 1491–92 he worked with Giovanni Canavesio in La Brigue. The assignment of the work in Marmora succeeded during the restoration by a signature (own riquadro): "Iohannes de Baleisonis habitator Demontis".
