history

La Brigue became a part of France after World War II after Italy was obliged to cede it in September 1947 in accordance with the 1946 Paris Peace Conference . Before the assignment, it belonged to the province of Cuneo . The change, which met resistance in the community, was subsequently ratified by a local referendum. This was held on October 12, 1947 under international observation.
