The province of Cuneo is an Italian province in the Piedmont region with 586,568 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It borders on France to the west, the metropolitan city of Turin to the north, the province of Asti to the east and the Ligurian provinces of Imperia and Savona to the south .
geography
The province is bordered in the west and south by the Cottian Alps and the Maritime Alps . To the east of the Tanaro Valley, the terrain slopes down and merges into the hilly landscape of the Langhe . There the U-shaped mountain range opens up to the Po plain , through which the Tanaro and its numerous branches flow. To the left of the Tanaro there are still foothills of the Montferrat hills , which encircle the plain between Bra and Saluzzo .

economy
Traditionally, the inhabitants of the province live from agriculture and cattle breeding . As an internationally known company that is based in the region, in addition to the harp manufacturer Salvi in Piasco , the confectionery manufacturer Ferrero in the city of Alba should be mentioned.
