The province of Asti is one of the eight provinces of the Piedmont region in Italy . It has an area of 1,493 km² with 213,216 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). The main town is the city of the same name Asti . The province was separated from the province of Alessandria on April 1, 1935 .
