history
San Damiano d'Asti was founded in 1275 when residents of the sacked villages of Castelnuovo and Gozzano fled to the high plateau near the Borbone river .

- Every year in September there is a traditional Festa dell'Uva wine festival . At San Damiano d'Asti, vines of the Barbera variety are grown for the Barbera d'Asti , a red wine with DOCG status, as well as for the Barbera del Monferrato .
