Piovà Massaia (formerly: Piovà ) is a municipality with 588 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian province of Asti (AT), Piedmont region . In 1940 the parish was renamed Piovà Massaia in honor of Cardinal Guglielmo Massaia , who was born here .
The neighboring communities are Capriglio , Cerreto d'Asti , Cocconato , Cunico , Montafia , Montiglio Monferrato , Passerano Marmorito and Piea .

At Piovà Massaia, vines of the Barbera variety are grown for the Barbera d'Asti , a red wine with DOCG status, as well as for the Barbera del Monferrato .
