Piovera ( Piedmontese Piòvra ) is a fraction of the Italian municipality ( comune ) Alluvioni Piovera in the province of Alessandria (AL), Piedmont .
geography
The place is located about 11 km northeast of the provincial capital Alessandria and about 5 km south of the Po on the orographic right side of the river Tanaro .
history
Piovera was an independent municipality until 2017 and, together with Alluvioni Cambiò, has formed the newly created municipality Alluvioni Piovera since January 1, 2018 after the residents of both municipalities voted in a referendum on October 29, 2017.The former municipal area covered an area of slightly more than 15 km².
