Costigliole d'Asti is a wine-growing community with 5755 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the northern Italian province of Asti , Piedmont region , about 15 km south of Asti .

The municipality consists of the districts ( frazioni ) Annunziata, Boglietto, Bionzo, Burio, Case Marchisio, Loreto, Motta, Sant'Anna, Santa Margherita and Sabbionassi.
The neighboring communities of Costigliole d'Astis are Agliano Terme , Antignano , Calosso , Castagnole delle Lanze , Castiglione Tinella , Govone , Isola d'Asti , Montegrosso d'Asti and San Martino Alfieri .

Culinary specialties
Wine is grown on 1200 hectares , which makes Costigliole d'Asti one of the largest wine-growing communities in Italy. The main grape varieties planted are Barbera and Moscato . The vineyards belong to the DOC regions of Piemonte , Barbera del Monferrato , Grignolino d'Asti , Monferrato and Freisa d'Asti . The muscat grape for Asti Spumante , a sweet DOCG - sparkling wine with low alcohol content and for still wine Moscato d'Asti is also grown here. In Costigliole d'Asti, vines of the Barbera variety are also grown for the Barbera d'Asti , a red wine with DOCG status.
The Castle of Costigliole has been home to the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners (ICIF) (founded in Turin in 1991 ) since 1997 , which is dedicated to the education and training of foreign chefs in Italian culinary art.
