Moscato d'Asti
Moscato d'Asti is a sweet Italian white wine from the provinces of Asti , Cuneo and Alessandria , Piedmont . Moscato d'Asti has had the status of a DOCG since 1967 , the last version of which was dated March 7, 2014. The wine also serves as the basis of the sparkling wine Asti Spumante , which undergoes a second fermentation. The wine is intended for quick enjoyment and should always be drunk within a year.

The following municipalities are approved for cultivation in the three provinces mentioned:
- In the province of Alessandria : Acqui Terme , Alice Bel Colle , Bistagno , Cassine , Grognardo , Ricaldone , Strevi , Terzo and Visone
- In the province of Asti : Bubbio , Calamandrana , Calosso , Canelli , Cassinasco , Castagnole delle Lanze , Castel Boglione , Castelletto Molina , Castelnuovo Belbo , Castel Rocchero , Cessole , Coazzolo , Costigliole d'Asti , Fontanile , Incisa Scapaccino , Loazzolo , Maranzana , Mombaruzzo , Monastero Bormida , Montabone , Nizza Monferrato , Quaranti , San Marzano Oliveto , Moasca , Sessame , Vesime , Rocchetta Palafea and San Giorgio Scarampi
- In the province of Cuneo : Camo , Castiglione Tinella , Cossano Belbo , Mango , Neive , Neviglie , Rocchetta Belbo , Serralunga d'Alba , S. Stefano Belbo , S. Vittoria d'Alba , Treiso , Trezzo Tinella , Castino , Perletto and the districts Como and San Rocco Senodelvio from Alba .

In 2017, 553,926 hectoliters of DOCG wine were produced in the entire Asti wine-growing region . The production area and volume of Moscato d'Asti have not been listed separately. Moscato d'Asti is only made from the Moscato Bianco grape variety . In addition to the normal "Moscato d'Asti", a "Moscato d'Asti vendemmia tardiva" (German: late harvest ) is also produced.

Moscato d'Asti vendemmia tardiva
- Color : golden yellow
- Smell : fruity, very intense, characteristic of dried grapes with a hint of spices
- Taste : sweet, balanced, velvety with hints of nutmeg grapes, reminiscent of honey
- Alcohol content : at least 11.0 percent by volume (the wine must have a potential alcohol content of at least 14 percent by volume . Part of the sugar content is not fermented and remains in the wine as residual sugar)
- Acidity : at least 4.5 g / l
- Dry extract : at least 22 g / l
