Pope Francis
The family of Pope Francis , whose real name is Jorge Mario Bergoglio, comes from the village . His grandfather Giovanni Angelo Bergoglio had six children, one of whom, Mario Bergoglio, emigrated to Argentina and found a job with the railroad. The Pope is said to speak the dialect of the area around Portacomaro and to master the songs of the emigrants.
