Ormea ( Piedmontese ORMEA , Ligurian ORMEA ) in the upper Tanaro is a municipality with a population of 1,557 (December 31, 2019) in the Italian province of Cuneo (CN), Region Piedmont .
The municipality consists of the districts Viozene, Chionea and Ponte di Nava. The patron saint of the place is San Martino .

The place is at an altitude of 740 m above sea level. The municipality covers an area of 124 km² . The neighboring communities are Alto , Armo , Briga Alta , Caprauna , Cosio di Arroscia , Frabosa Soprana , Garessio , Magliano Alpi , Nasino , Pornassio , Roburent and Roccaforte Mondovì . Ormea is the terminus of the Ceva – Ormea railway line .
