Verduno ( Piedmontese Vërdun ) is a municipality with 528 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian province of Cuneo (CN), Piedmont region . The elevated viewpoint (Belvedere) right next to the parish church of San Michele Arcangelo offers a panoramic view of the surrounding communities.

180 hectares of the municipal area of ​​Verduno consist of vineyards. Of this, 99 hectares are in Barolo , 25 hectares in Barbera and 24 hectares in Dolcetto . The remaining 32 hectares are made up of other grape varieties, of which Verduno Pelaverga , a light red wine with DOC status, is the most important.

  • Pilgrimage church of Beato Sebastiano Valfrè, built in 1940 in the style of historicism , named after the presbyter Sebastiano Valfrè (born March 9, 1629 in Verduno; † January 30, 1710 in Turin ). Valfrè was particularly active as a clergyman during the 117-day siege of Turin by French troops in 1706 during the War of the Spanish Succession and was beatified by the Catholic Church in 1834. The street in Verduno that leads to the pilgrimage church is named after “Beato Valfrè”.
