Dronero ( Piedmontese Droné , Occitan Draonier ) is a municipality with 7044 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian province of Cuneo (CN), Piedmont region . The place forms a center of the Maira valley .

The neighboring municipalities are Busca , Caraglio , Cartignano , Castelmagno , Montemale di Cuneo , Monterosso Grana , Pradleves , Roccabruna , San Damiano Macra and Villar San Costanzo .
