Crissolo is a northern Italian municipality in the Cottian Alps with 158 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located in the province of Cuneo , Piedmont region , about 60 km southwest of Turin , in the uppermost Po Valley .

It has been a member of the Comunità Montana Valli Po, Bronda e Infernotto mountain community since 2006 , which was expanded in 2008 to become the Comunità Montana Valli Po, Bronda, Infernotto e Varaita .

The end of the valley of the Po Valley is the best starting point to the highest peak in the Cottian Alps, the rock pyramid of Monte Viso (Monviso, 3,841 m). Two mountain huts can be reached from Crissolo : the Rifugio Quintino Sella (2640 m) on the Lago Grande di Viso and the Rifugio Mont Viso (2460 m).

A two-day mountain tour is the Giro del Viso , which - partly on the French side ( Bergerie du Grand Vallon ) - leads around the giant mountain to the Rifugio Vallanta (2450 m) above the southern neighboring valley, Valle Varaita .
