history
The house was built as a barracks in 1939 and was used by the military until 1943. From 1952 it was used as a refuge by the Barge section of the CAI under the name Rifugio del Losas. After a renovation in 1961, it was named after Vitale Giacoletti (1923–1955), the founder of the CAI Barge section. The rifugio has been expanded and modernized several times, most recently in 1971.
