Duranus is a French municipality with 140 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Alpes-Maritimes in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur .

Duranus is part of the Nice Côte d'Azur metropolis , 30 kilometers north of Nice above the Vésubie Gorge. From the place hikes can be led through the steep mountain slopes that rise to over 1500 meters.
