Roubion is a French commune in the Alpes-Maritimes in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Nice and the canton of Tourrette-Levens .
geography
The community is located in the French Maritime Alps . It borders in the north on Isola , on the east by Roure , on the southeast by Ilonse , on the southwest by Pierlas and to the west Beuil .
history
The place was called "Robio" (mentioned 1067), "Rubion", "Robionum" (1293), "Robjono" (1333) and "Robion" (1795) depending on the time period. Since 1860 it has had its current name - Roubion.
