Peille is a French commune in the Alpes-Maritimes in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Nice and the Canton of Contes . The residents call themselves Peillois or Peillasques.
geography
The community is located in the French Maritime Alps around ten kilometers from La Turbie and 15 kilometers from L'Escarène . The Paillon River forms the border with Blausasc in the west . The other neighboring municipalities are L'Escarène, Touët-de-l'Escarène , Lucéram , Sospel , Castillon , Sainte-Agnès , Gorbio , Roquebrune-Cap-Martin , Beausoleil , La Turbie, La Trinité and Peillon in a clockwise direction . In addition to the main settlement, the parish also includes the hamlets of La Grave de Peille, Saint-Martin de Peille, Saint-Siméon and Virounours.
Transport links
The Tendabahn runs along the river valley and also serves Peille. In addition, the D53 département road runs through the village.
