The Canton Contes is a French constituency in the department of Alpes-Maritimes in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It comprises 20 municipalities in the Arrondissement of Nice and has its bureau centralisateur in Contes . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, the canton was expanded considerably in spring 2015.

Until the reorganization, the seven municipalities of Bendejun , Berre-les-Alpes , Cantaron , Châteauneuf-Villevieille , Coaraze , Contes and Drap belonged to the canton of Contes . Its layout corresponded to an area of 73.84 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 0607.
