Lucéram is a French commune in the Alpes-Maritimes in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Nice and the Canton of Contes . The residents call themselves Lucéramois.
geography
The community is located in the French Maritime Alps around 27 kilometers from Nice . It borders:
- in the north at Lantosque ,
- in the northeast at Moulinet ,
- in the east to Sospel ,
- to the south at Peille , Touët-de-l'Escarène and L'Escarène ,
- in the southwest at Berre-les-Alpes ,
- to the west at Coaraze , Duranus and Utelle .
In addition to the main settlement at 650 m , the municipality marker also includes the hamlets of Peïra-Cava, Saint-Laurent, Les Mounts, Les Mortissons, Garibert and Tournet.

history
An early mention of the village comes from the year 1057 under the name "Luceranus". Later names were "Lucerius" and "Lucerus." In 1876 a barracks was built in Peïra-Cava .
