The rest of the municipality of Le Cannet is assigned to the canton of Cannes-1 . Before the reorganization, the situation was reversed, and Mougins formed its own canton to which a smaller part of Le Cannet belonged. Instead, the old canton of Le Cannet only comprised the larger part (around two thirds of the municipal area) and before 2015 had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 0634.
