Giovanni Battista Borra

Giovanni Battista Borra (born December 27, 1712 in Dogliani , † November 1786 in Turin ) was an Italian draftsman and architect .

Life

Borra studied in Turin with the architect Bernardo Antonio Vittone from 1733 to 1736 . From 1750 to 1753 he accompanied Robert Wood and James Dawkins on their journey to the eastern Mediterranean and made a. a. the drawings of the publications of the ruins of Palmyra and Baalbek . After his return he worked as an architect in England, where he a. a. Designed the house and park of Stowe House and the music room of Norfolk House in London (now in the Victoria and Albert Museum ). He later worked in Italy again.
