Giro di Sicilia (cycling)
The Giro di Sicilia (English: Tour of Sicily) is a stage race for men in road cycling in Sicily .
The race was first held in 1907 and then annually, albeit with interruptions. The last event took place in 1977 until the race was revived in 2019. It is classified in the UCI category 2.1, goes over four stages and around 700 kilometers. In three years - 1958, 1973 and 1974 - the Tour of Sicily was held as a one-day race, in 1958 in addition to the stage race.
The edition planned for March 2020 has been canceled due to regulatory requirements in connection with the spread of COVID-19 in Italy . The organizer said he would try to catch up on the races at another time.
