Gischau

Until December 31, 2003, Gischau was a municipality in the Beetzendorf administrative community in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt , Germany.

history

On July 1, 1950, the communities of Klein Gischau and Groß Gischau from the Salzwedel district were merged to form the new community of Gischau. Klein Gischau and Groß Gischau were continued as districts in the new municipality.

On January 1, 2004, the Gischau community was incorporated into the Beetzendorf community . The districts of Klein Gischau and Groß Gischau thus became districts of Beetzendorf.

The last honorary mayor of the community of Gischau was Eckhard Bastian.
